Babes & Ballads

This is a ladies only choir, the only one in Salisbury.

The choir meets in the Cathedral School on Tuesday evenings during the school term. There is no audition and membership is open to all. The music repertoire is a mixture of popular songs, gospel numbers and the like. The emphasis is on enjoyment, the choir providing a once a week opportunity for those who love music to just turn up and sing.

You will be welcome no matter what your musical experience. If you have never sung with a choir before then why not give it a try. You will find the whole experience wonderfully rewarding.

You just pay £4 on the door.

The choir is led by Fiona Clarke. Fiona has a wide musical experience and built up the Salisbury Community Choir from a membership of about 30 to over 200.

Since graduating from the Royal Academy of Music, Fiona has worked as a consort singer with groups such as the Tallis Scholars, the Kings Consort, BBC Singers and worked for ten years as a full-time member of The Sixteen with whom she travelled around the world and made numerous recordings. Since moving to Salisbury, Fiona has established herself as a singing teacher and workshop leader both locally and nationally. She is Vocal Consultant to the London Gay Men's Chorus, and works with Scott Stroman and his Eclectic Voices as both a soloist and Vocal Coach. More recent solo engagements include Messiah performances, a Brahms Requiem and Monteverdi Vespers.

If you want to join the choir then it will be rehearsing on Tuesday evenings from 7-15 pm till just before 9-00 pm.

Any changes of venue or other urgent matters will be posted on this web site.
