URGENT!!
Returning your Summer Concert Music
Please return ALL copies of your music (Elgar's Bavarian Songs and The Mikado) - if you haven't already done so - to
Katie Fry at the rehearsal on Thursday 22 July. When the Elgar copy is returned your deposit of £10 will be given back to you. If you are unable to return your copies directly to Katie on Thursday, please send them to her at Totterdale Farm, Tisbury, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP3 6RS to arrive by Friday 23rd July at the latest. Katie can then get them to the music library before the deadline on the 26th. Thank you!
HOG ROAST
Come to the SCC annual HOG ROAST on Saturday 4 September from 6pm at Hale Village Hall, Hale. This event is free to all members and their partners / spouses / children.
AGM
The AGM will be held on Thursday 23 September at 7pm at Chafyn Grove School, instead of the first half of the rehearsal that evening. (Please note change of date).
Your committee needs you!
At the AGM in September, our Treasurer and Membership Secretary will both be standing down. We will therefore need people to fill both these positions. The tasks are not onerous, the accounts and membership lists are in tip-top condition, and help is at hand from the current officers to ensure a smooth handover and ongoing helpful support. You do not need to be a choir member: a spouse or partner would be fine. Please contact either Francis Taylor (Treasurer) on 01722 780316 or Mike Hiles (Membership Secretary) on 01722 349951 for further information.
The Really Big Chorus
The Really Big Chorus have (possibly) been invited to sing The Armed Man in New York in September 2011. The invitations will only go out to people on their mailing list and if SCC members wish to take part they will need to get on this list. Click here to visit their website.
Cake Sales
I would like to thank all those bakers who produced such a variety of wonderful cakes for the cake stall. You may like to know that your cakes alone have raised £123 for the choir funds. Well done. Special thanks should go to Jacqui James who has organised everything.
Cake sales will resume after the summer holidays. Mike Kirby

Mayor’s Appeal 2010-2011
To provide overnight accommodation for families of babies born 2 sick 2 small or 2 soon.
Hilary Webber, aged 62 (and sister to choir member Clare Curr), entered her 4th Ironman in Nice, France on 27 June 2010. This consisted of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride, and a 26.2 mile marathon - all in 17 hours! Hilary is asking for sponsorship to support the Mayor’s local charity. If you wish to sponsor her, sponsorship forms and appeal information leaflets will be available at choir or you can donate by clicking on: www.justgiving.com/hilaryironman
Choir members who are sponsoring Hilary Webber for this year’s Mayoral Charity may like to know that she successfully completed the Nice Ironman in: 14 hours - 10 minutes - 16 seconds!
Thank you to everyone who has sponsored her... it's not too late to do so!

Chilcott concert
It is a reflection of the generosity of SCC members that there were so many people who supported sending some of the Chilcott money to Haiti. The choir Trustees have sent half of the money directly to the Disaster Emergency Committee, and there will be a vote at the forthcoming AGM about the remaining half of the money.
Facebook
Salisbury Community Choir has joined Facebook! Many thanks to Katie Fry for setting this up and managing it.
Sopranos
The choir currently has sufficient numbers of sopranos, so we are temporarily not enrolling any more sopranos. If a soprano would like to join the choir, she would be welcome to join as an alto (or tenor), and migrate to the sopranos when there is a vacancy.
